Calling all xenotechnohorticulturists!

The Ocras Island chapter of the Alien Garden Club, is looking for participants for our inaugural Alien Garden Club Flora Show!

As the Island is currently being consumed by all manner of invasive Extra-Terrestrial Flora, this provides a unique opportunity to show off your vision at the Alien Garden Club Flora Show.

Craft your best Alien Flora form to show off your skills and the Flora Spacepunk aesthetic. Merge organic forms and imagery with technology to show off where bio logic and machine logic intertwine.

Solder it! CRISPR it! Weld it! Glue it! Edit it! Staple it! Fuse it! Just plain make it!

All contestants will be given a modest display plot in public space during TOORCAMP! Your creations will be on display for the length of the Alien Garden Club Flora Show to be viewed by the public, and judging will happen during this time.

Entry is open to all members of OIAGC.

Awards will be presented for:

  • Best In Show
  • Best Nocturnal Flora (best viewed at night)
  • Best Diurnal Flora (best viewed the rest of the hours)
  • Most Carnivorous Flora (please restrict the number of campers eaten during event)
  • Most Intelligent Flora
  • Most Interactive Flora

Flower Show Entry

All participants should apply to AlienGardenClub@toorcon.org.

Please include: Your name, your plant's name, approximate plot size needed (if greater than 1-2ft), and any special requirements needed.

Multiple entries are allowed, but they may be judged independently.

HURRY! Contestant slots will go quickly!

RULES

1. All entries must enter. Guerrilla gardening is frowned upon.

2. You may use whatever medium you wish, and mix as you wish. SEE RULE#3

3. Use common sense. No flora that would be threat to life, limb, or leaves of either campers or other plants. Fire-breathing plants might be very cool... except to other plants. And campers. And flammable things.

3. Interactivity may or may not be a bonus. Nothing wrong with just sitting there and looking pretty... as I keep telling myself.

4. Your Flora display should be self-contained, and self-sustaining. (Bring your own power, if needed.) It will be on display for several days, to give all campers a chance to enjoy your creation.

FAQ

Q: How does one join, enter, or make sacrifice to the appropriate elder gods?

A: See ENTRY section above, but in general submit your entry to AlienGardenClub@toorcon.org.

As to the latter issue, we leave this between you and your appropriate gods. (Ours are very inappropriate. Best you not sacrifice to them.)
